The conditions were not kind to the MotoGP class at Misano, once again refusing either to rain properly to allow the use of full wet tires or to dry out enough to set decent lap times on slicks. The miserable weather saw many riders just sat in the pits, with championship contenders Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa not willing to risk injury at this crucial stage of the championship.
Of the riders that did ride, it was Karel Abraham who was quickest, heading up James Ellison by over a second, with Michele Pirro in 3rd, ahead of Yonny Hernandez. Jonathan Rea spent a few laps on the Repsol Honda, still getting acclimatized to a MotoGP bike, and setting the 5th fastest time.
The weather is expected to improve a little tomorrow, though the day could still start out wet, but Sunday promises to be warmer and completely dry. Hopefully, the fans coming to the circuit will see more riders out on track tomorrow.
