A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital after an accident near Ashton Gate.
The rider, believed to be a man in his 30s, is understood to have come off his bike shortly after 4.30pm today.
Ambulance crews spent up to an hour treating the injured man at the scene of the incident, at the junction of Frayne Road and Clift House Road, between Coronation Road and Brunel Way.
He was then taken to the Bristol Royal Infirmary, although no details of the nature and extent of his injuries were available tonight.
Emergency services said the incident was not believed to have involved any other vehicles.
As well as the ambulance crews, two fire engines attended the scene to clear a fuel spill.
The accident caused long delays for rush-hour drivers on Coronation Road and other roads nearby.
