TWO men from London have been found guilty of the murder of 21-year-old Rico Gordon.

Bristol Crown Court heard a gun battle ensued in Stapleton Road following an incident when two groups visited the Coach House pub, after last year's St Paul's Carnival on July 3.

Mr Gordon, 21, received a ricochet bullet to his head and died at the scene and three other people were shot and wounded.

Jurors had deliberated since Monday after a lengthy trial, but this morning returned unanimous guilty verdicts on both defendants.

RickelAdams, 27, was found guilty of murder, possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life, GBH of Hezekiah Davies and GBH of Isabell Brant. He was sentenced to life, to serve a minimum of 35 years.

The court heard that Ms Brant and her boyfriend had been to carnival and later socialised at the Black Swan pub until leaving at 4am.

Ms Brant saw a man standing in the middle of the road, firing a gun towards where there were other people on the other side of the road.

Ms Brant was shot in the leg, at the back of a knee, and moved next to a wall before police and ambulance staff came to her aid.

The trial heard that Hezekiah Davies was another casualty of the gun battle, having been shot through the top of his left leg and at the base of his spine.

Police discovered Mr Gordon lying dead at the scene, having suffered a bullet to his head which caused "catastrophic" brain injury.

The jury heard Rickel Adams was a fourth casualty, but he was taken by friends to hospital in Ealing, London, claiming to have been shot in London.

CCTV footage was released by the police following the Stapleton Road shooting.
